Warnsdorfer Hut

Warnsdorfer Hütte sits at 2,336m in the Virgental valley, southeast of the Zillertal. Reach it from the village of Ginzling in 2.5 hours via the Zamserbach valley trail, or from Furtschagl Alm in 1.5 hours. The approach is straightforward hiking on marked paths with moderate elevation gain. Most parties approach from Ginzling as the main access point.
The hut holds 88 beds across multiple rooms. It serves meals at dinner and breakfast; the kitchen prepares hearty Austrian mountain food for mixed diets if requested in advance. Showers are available, a rarity at this elevation that makes longer stays more comfortable. The hut typically opens late June through early September, depending on snow melt and staffing. It functions as a base for day walks in the Zillertal Alps and a stage hut on longer ridge traverses heading toward the Zemmgrund valley.
Book directly by email or phone, especially for July and August weekends when capacity fills 6–8 weeks ahead. Shoulder months (June and September) offer easier availability. Half-board is standard; confirm any dietary needs when booking. The hut manager can advise on current snow conditions and route options if you plan to arrive earlier in the season.
