Anna-Schutzhaus
3.4About
The hut operates as an OeAV-managed refuge with 30 beds split across dormitory rooms. Meals focus on hearty Austrian fare—expect schnitzel, kasnocken, and soups. The kitchen handles half-board and packed lunches. There's a small dining room and basic facilities including pit toilets and rainwater supplies. The hut opens May through October, with July and August the busiest months. Winter access is not reliable.
Book directly by phone in advance, especially for weekends and July–August when the hut fills completely. Single night stays are possible but less convenient for the managers. Plan on calling 2–3 months ahead for peak season. The hut staff speak German primarily; basic English is available. Bring cash for payment unless prior arrangement is made.
