Brandlalm
2.5About
Brandlalm is a working alpine dairy farm that also takes hikers. The hut sleeps around 40 people in dormitory rooms and has a handful of private doubles. Meals focus on hearty fare—expect Kaiserschmarrn, schnitzel, and fresh milk and butter from the farm's own dairy. The kitchen serves breakfast and dinner; light snacks available during the day. Showers and toilets are basic but clean. The hut operates year-round, though it's quietest in winter when access can be challenging. Summer is the busy season for families and serious hikers traversing between valleys.
Book directly with Brandlalm by phone or email. They accept small groups and families readily, but July and early August fill quickly. Weekdays in June and September are far less crowded. The hut is not affiliated with OeAV or DAV, so expect no discount from club memberships. Half-board (bed and dinner) is standard; full-board adds breakfast.
