About
The hut is run by the OeAV (Austrian Alpine Club) and offers 50–60 beds across dorm and small private rooms. Meals are available daily during the season; bring your own food if staying outside service hours. Water comes from a spring and is reliable year-round. The hut has basic toilets and no shower. Mobile signal is patchy. The season runs from May through October, with summer months seeing steady traffic. Winter access requires winter mountaineering skills.
Book directly with the hut by phone or email for July and August; weekends fill 2–3 weeks ahead during this period. May, June, and September offer more flexibility. The hut staff speak German and English. Arrive before 17:00 if you have no reservation, as bed availability dries up fast in peak season.
