Heubergalm
2.9About
This is a small, traditional alm with 40–50 bed capacity split across a main building and annexe. The kitchen serves hearty Alpine fare: schnitzel, cheese dumplings, and fresh bread. Vegetarian meals are available with notice. The hut has basic shower facilities and a drying room—essential after wet weather. The location makes it a natural waypoint for ridge walks toward Hochstaufen or loops into the Lofer mountains. The hut operates year-round, though it closes some weeks in November and April for maintenance.
Book direct with the hut by phone or email at least 2–3 weeks ahead for weekends and July–August. July and August weekends fill quickly; early September is less crowded and often has better weather stability. The hut accepts cash and bank transfer only—no card payments. Bring cash for drinks and snacks, as the till is small. Staff speak German primarily; basic English works.
