About
Dick-Hütte is managed by the Austrian Alpine Club (OeAV). The hut takes 40–50 people and offers simple dormitory beds, meals cooked to order (book ahead), and a small shop. The building sits in full alpine exposure; weather deteriorates fast here, and afternoon thunderstorms are routine in July and August. The hut is staffed from mid-June through September, with variable opening in shoulder months depending on snow. Winter access is ski touring only.
Reserve beds at least 4 weeks ahead in July and August. Contact the hut directly by phone or post your request to the local section office. The hut gets busy on weekends and during the peak summer weeks (mid-July through mid-August). Weekday visits in June and September offer quieter conditions and more reliable availability. Bring cash; card payment is not always available.
