About
The hut is run by the Austrian Alpine Club (OeAV) and offers 35 beds across mixed dorms and smaller rooms. The kitchen serves traditional Tyrolean meals—dinner and breakfast are included in most packages. Showers are available. It operates year-round, though winter access depends on snow conditions; call ahead in December and January. The hut is quiet compared to the busy Ötztal or Zillertal valleys, making it worth seeking out if you want serious hiking without the crowds.
Book by phone directly with the hut, especially for weekend stays. July and August fill quickly, but Füssener Hütte rarely turns people away completely. June, September, and early October are ideal—excellent weather, fewer visitors, and reliable reservations. Winter weekends can be busy with ski-mountaineers.
