Refuge de Trébentaz

Refuge de Trébentaz sits at 1,865m in Haute-Savoie, a solid base for walking in the limestone plateaux east of Chamonix. The hut is accessed from the Vallée de la Dranse. Most parties approach from the north via Morzine or Saint-Jean-d'Aulps, a walk of roughly 3 to 4 hours depending on your starting point and the exact route. The terrain is forested lower down, opening to alpine pasture as you climb. Day walks from here reach the Pointe de Nyon and other modest summits that reward the effort with wide views across the Chablais range.
Refuge de Trébentaz operates as a simple mountain hut with 28 beds split across shared dormitory rooms. Meals and drinks are available. Showers are on site. The hut has no WiFi. The refuge opens seasonally from spring through autumn; check opening dates directly as they vary with snow and staffing. This is not a place for comfort seekers, but the straightforward hospitality and location make it useful for walkers exploring the quieter parts of Haute-Savoie away from the busier Chamonix valleys.
