Cabin des Clots de Mirabel

Cabane des Clots de Mirabel sits at 1,515m in the Hautes-Alpes, accessed via the Val de Ribémont. The approach takes 2.5 hours on foot from the roadhead at Ribémont. This is a small, basic refuge designed for walkers and climbers using the upper valleys of the Écrins massif. The hut serves as a staging point for routes into the surrounding peaks and glacier approaches.
The cabin holds 5 beds across shared dormitory space. It operates as a staffed refuge with meals available—book meals when you reserve beds. Water comes from a spring nearby. The hut opens June through September, closing earlier if snow blocks access. Expect simple, functional conditions: this is working mountain shelter, not a comfortable inn. Toilets are basic; there is no shower.
