Baraque de la Jasse

Baraque de la Jasse sits at 1,570m on the northern edge of Parc National des Écrins in Isère. The hut serves as a base for routes into the park and sits on established hiking trails crossing the region. Access is from the Champoléon valley; the approach takes roughly 2–3 hours on foot depending on your starting point. The location works well for day walks across alpine pasture or as a staging point for longer mountain routes.
The baraque is a simple refuge with 11 beds across basic dormitory accommodation. Drinking water is available on-site. The hut is not staffed and does not provide meals, so bring all food and cooking fuel you need. There is a small wood stove for warmth. Expect basic conditions—this is mountain shelter, not a staffed auberge. The hut typically opens June through September, though weather at this elevation can shift rapidly in shoulder months.
