About
The Cabane is a small, unmanned refuge operated by FFCAM. It sleeps around 20 people in two dormitory rooms and has basic bunk beds with no pillows or sleeping bags provided; bring your own system. A small stove allows you to cook meals using the firewood stored inside. There is no guardian, no meals served, and no water supply—melt snow in winter or collect from nearby streams in summer. Toilets are basic and outside. This is a hut for competent mountaineers, not casual hikers.
Book directly with the FFCAM Chambéry section in advance, particularly if you're planning to visit between late July and August when it fills quickly. Leave a small cash donation in the donation box if you've used supplies. The cabin sees steady use from parties crossing to the Chaîne de la Vanoise, so expect company on weekends during summer.
