Berggasthof Blomberghaus

Blomberghaus sits at 1203m on the Blomberg, a limestone ridge east of Bad Tölz in the Bavarian foothills. Reach it from Fischbachau village by hiking 2 hours via the Schönfingersteig, a steep but direct route through beech forest. The gentler approach from Elbach takes 3 hours and gains less elevation. Both trails converge near the summit ridge. The hut works as a base for ridge walks toward the Firstalm or as a stopping point on longer traverses across the northern limestone belt.
Blomberghaus operates year-round and sleeps around 60 guests across dormitory and double rooms. The restaurant serves Bavarian cooking, and the kitchen will pack lunches if you order the night before. Showers are available. There's no WiFi—plan accordingly if you need to stay connected. The beer garden operates in good weather and faces north toward the Benediktenwand massif. Capacity fills quickly on summer weekends and throughout July and August.
Book directly by phone or email 8 weeks ahead for July and August weekends. Weekday slots open up faster. The hut accepts groups but prefers advance notice. Park at the Fischbachau trailhead or use the smaller lot near Elbach; both fill by 10am on sunny summer Saturdays. Half-board is standard but not mandatory.
