DAV Selbstversorgerhütte Sektion Bayerland
3.2About
The hut sleeps around 40 people in shared dormitory rooms. You cook your own meals in the communal kitchen—bring food from the valley or stock up in advance. Water is available on-site. The hut has basic heating and toilets; comfort is functional rather than luxurious. It operates year-round, though winter visits require mountain experience and proper equipment. DAV members get discounted rates; non-members pay a small premium.
Book by email as soon as your dates are fixed, especially for weekends and July–August. Peak season fills 4–8 weeks ahead. Confirm your arrival time when you book—the hut is unmanned outside check-in hours, and you'll need clear instructions for key collection or entry. If you're a DAV member, bring your card for the rate discount.
