Bivouac Resnati

Bivacco Resnati stands at 1,920m in the Lombardy Alps, a simple emergency shelter in the Bergamasche Alps. Reach it from the Val Seriana valley via the hamlet of Lizzola. From Lizzola, allow 2.5 to 3 hours hiking on marked paths to the bivacco. The route gains around 600m elevation through mixed terrain—mostly well-trodden trail with sections of loose scree higher up. This is a working hut for mountaineers on multi-day Alpine traverses, not a leisure destination.

The bivacco offers 8 beds in one basic sleeping room. There is no guardian, no meals, and no running water. You bring your own sleeping bag and food. A small shelter from weather and a roof over your head is what you get. The hut sits on the route between bigger rifugios, useful for parties pushing long days across the range. It opens year-round, though snow and ice make winter access technical.

This is a self-service bivacco run by the local CAI section. Check cai.it or contact the Bergamo CAI branch before heading up to confirm current access conditions and any recent maintenance work. Do not rely on this hut as your only option—always have a backup plan and carry emergency supplies.
