Casera del Dosso
1.9About
The rifugio is a small mountain shelter run as a basic overnight station with 6 beds across shared rooms. Water comes from a spring source on-site. Toilets are flush and functional. The hut operates year-round but sees heaviest use June through September. A caretaker provides simple meals and drinks; bring cash and confirm availability in advance. Cell coverage is poor to non-existent.
Book through the managing CAI section or contact the hut directly well ahead of summer weekends. July and August fill fast. This is a working pastoral building rather than a resort hut, so expect minimal amenities and authentic mountain accommodation. Solitude and straightforward access to high ridgework make it worthwhile for serious hikers willing to travel light and self-sufficient.
