Refuge Rasega

Rifugio Rasega sits at 1,151m on the eastern flank of the Prealps, in the Brescia province of Lombardy. The hut anchors several day hikes and serves as a base for routes into the Gargnano area. Access from the village of Tignale takes 2–2.5 hours on foot via a steady climb through beech forest. A rough track allows vehicle access to within 20 minutes of the hut if you're arriving by car.

The rifugio operates year-round and offers 30 beds across simple dormitory rooms. The kitchen produces reliable regional cooking—expect polenta, risotto, and local cheese. The hut has hot water, basic washing facilities, and a large common room warmed by a wood stove in winter. Half-board is standard; full board available on request. This is a working hut with a steady flow of local hikers and families on weekends, not a quiet refuge.

Book directly by phone for weekend visits May through September. Winter weekends fill quickly with skiers and snow walkers. Arrive Friday afternoon if you want a guarantee of a bed. The hut is family-friendly and dogs are welcome. No email booking system is in place, so phone calls are essential for group reservations or peak-season visits.
