Refuge Città di Ciriè

Rifugio Città di Ciriè sits at 1,850m on the western flank of the Gran Paradiso massif in Piedmont. The hut serves as a base for approaches to Gran Paradiso (4,061m) and traverses of the surrounding ridges. From the roadhead at Pont near Ceresole Reale, allow 2.5 to 3 hours on foot to reach the rifugio. The final approach climbs steadily through mixed terrain—expect loose ground and exposed sections in wet weather.

The rifugio holds 23 beds across simple double and multi-share rooms. Half-board is mandatory during peak season (July–August); self-catering is sometimes possible outside summer months. The kitchen provides substantial meals fueled by the local water source. Toilet facilities are basic but functional. The hut operates year-round, though winter access depends on snow conditions and avalanche forecasting.

Book directly by phone or email at least 6 weeks before your visit for July and August. The refugio fills quickly during the Gran Paradiso climbing season (June to September).
