Refuge privato

Rifugio Privato sits at 1,000m in the Piedmont Alps, accessible on foot from the valley in roughly 2–3 hours depending on your starting point. The approach is straightforward hiking through mixed forest and alpine meadow. Most parties approach from the south via marked trails; check locally for current conditions as lower-elevation routes can be muddy in spring.

The rifugio is small and family-run, sleeping around 30 guests across basic but clean rooms. Meals are simple—typically pasta, polenta, and local cheese—and half-board is the standard arrangement. The hut has running water and basic showers. It's open year-round but operates on reduced hours in winter, so verify opening dates before traveling in November or March.

This is a private hut, not managed by CAI or SAT. Book direct by phone or email at least 2–3 weeks ahead, especially for weekends and July–August. Winter weekends fill up with local day-hikers and families, so confirm availability before committing. Cash payment is preferred; check their policy on cards when you call.
