Brogleshütte - Rifugio Malga Brogles

Brogleshütte sits at 2,047m in the Zillertal, southern Austria, on the main hiking route between Mayrhofen and the Zillertaler Höhenstraße. You reach it on foot in 2.5 hours from Mayrhofen village via the marked Zillertal trail, or in 1.5 hours from the Rastkogel cable car station. Most hikers use it as a day-stop or overnight base for exploring the surrounding alpine meadows and peaks.

The hut operates year-round and sleeps around 40 guests in shared dormitory rooms. The kitchen serves good traditional food at reasonable prices; dinner and breakfast are included if you book them. Toilets are basic but clean. There are no showers. The hut has a small bar and good views south toward the Zillertal peaks. In summer, it gets busy on weekends with families and day-hikers, particularly from June through August.

Book ahead May through September, especially for Saturdays. Phone or email directly—they respond reliably within a day. July and August weekends fill 4–6 weeks in advance. Outside summer (October–April), you can often show up without notice, though the hut sometimes closes for brief maintenance periods—contact them first if visiting in shoulder seasons.
