Rifugio Passo Paradiso

Trentino-Alto Adige, Italy

About

Rifugio Passo Paradiso stands at 2,595m on the Passo Paradiso, a high pass between the Val di Fassa and Val Gardena in Trentino-Alto Adige. Reach it from Canazei in 3.5 hours via the Fedare trail, or from Selva in Val Gardena in 2.5 hours. The approach is steady climbing on well-marked paths through alpine meadow and scree. The pass itself is a natural funnel for hikers crossing between the two valleys.

The rifugio is managed by the local SAT section and sleeps 40 people in shared rooms. Half-board is mandatory in July and August; other months you can take breakfast only. The kitchen serves solid mountain food—pasta, polenta, local cheeses. Hot showers and drying rooms are available. The hut opens mid-June through mid-September only. It's small and exposed; wind and weather can be intense even in summer.

Book directly with the hut in July and August; aim for 2–3 months ahead if you're arriving then. Outside peak season, you can often show up without a reservation. Phone +39 0462 760 288 or contact SAT at sat.tn.it. The hut is popular with mountain bikers heading the nearby trails and walkers doing Dolomite multi-day traverses, so confirm availability before committing your itinerary.
