Rifugio Roda di Vael
5.0About
The hut sleeps 60 people across multiple rooms plus 4 emergency places. Half-board and full-board meals are available daily. Water is piped in. There is no WiFi. The building was rebuilt and enlarged in the 1980s but retains the character of a working mountain refuge. It's a logical stop on multi-day traverses of the Sella or as a base for day walks in the Val di Fassa and Contrin valleys.
Open staffed from June to September. In winter it remains open but unstaffed—you'll need winter experience and self-sufficiency. Book directly by email or phone via the CAI network website (rifugi.cai.it). July and August fill quickly; book 2-3 months ahead for those months. June and September are quieter.
