Stalanzer Alm
4.3About
The hut offers 50 beds split between private rooms and dormitories. Half board is standard; the kitchen serves solid South Tyrolean food using local products. Water comes from mountain springs. The hut stays open year-round, though conditions are rough November to March—confirm before visiting in winter. It operates as a working farm, so you'll see cattle grazing the surrounding pastures.
Book directly by phone or email at least 4 weeks ahead for July and August weekends. The AVS (Alpenverein Südtirol) manages the hut. July and August fill quickly, but shoulder seasons offer good availability. The hut sits on the popular Mendel Pass road, so parking can be tight on summer weekends; arriving early or midweek helps.
