About
The bivouac holds 8 beds in a basic stone hut with no guardian, no meals, and no water source (melt snow or carry what you need). Expect no amenities beyond four walls and a roof. Winter access is unreliable; plan visits June to September. Summer thunderstorms build fast at this elevation—leave early and don't linger.
This is a free-to-use refuge with no booking system. Arrive early if you're counting on a bed; there's no guarantee of space. Carry everything you need: sleeping bag, stove, fuel, food, water. Cell reception is patchy. Register at the logbook if you spend the night. The hut works best as a high camp for Gran Paradiso or Bec Becchei climbs, not as a standalone destination.
