About

Casera Prademùr sits at 1900m in the Dolomites, serving as a base for hikers tackling the ridge routes and peaks around the Tre Cime di Lavaredo massif. The hut is reached on foot from the Val d'Ansiei—plan 2.5 to 3 hours from the nearest road access. The approach is steep in sections but well-marked; summer snow can linger into June on north-facing stretches.

This is a small mountain shelter with 8 beds spread across basic dormitory space. Water comes from a natural spring on-site. The hut is unmanned, so you bring your own food and cook on a simple stove. There are no blankets or mattresses provided—carry a sleeping bag and mat. The season runs roughly June through September, depending on snow cover. Winter access is possible for experienced mountaineers with skis, but expect the hut to be unheated.

Contact the local CAI section (Club Alpino Italiano) in Cortina d'Ampezzo or Auronzo di Cadore to confirm current conditions and access. There is no formal booking system—the hut operates on a first-come basis and should never be left locked. Leave a donation in the box if you use it.
