Alpine Dairy Lessinia

Malga Lessinia sits at 1,616m in the Lessini Plateau, a limestone karst landscape in the Veneto Alps above Verona. The plateau offers rolling meadows and clear water sources—good walking territory without technical climbing. Reach the hut from Trabbio (1,200m) by walking northeast through beech forest for 2 hours. From Bosco Chiesanova, the approach takes 1.5 hours across open pasture. Both routes are marked and suitable for fit hikers on established trails.

This is a working mountain dairy (malga), not a full refuge. The hut serves simple food and hot drinks during the day and has basic overnight accommodation. Expect rustic conditions: no showers, cold water only, sleeping platforms in shared rooms. The kitchen prepares local mountain cheese and polenta. Water comes from the spring. The hut operates May through September depending on weather. Owner-managed, it closes outside this window.
