About

Mittagerhütte sits at 2,271m on the Tre Cime plateau in the Dolomites, Veneto. Reach it from Auronzo di Cadore via the Tre Cime road (toll required) in 30 minutes by car, then 1.5 hours on foot via marked trail 101. The direct hiking approach from Misurina takes 3 hours. The hut anchors walks across the Tre Cime di Lavaredo massif and connects easily to Paternsattel and Lavaredo rifugios for multi-day traverses.

The hut holds 70 beds across double and multi-bed rooms with en-suite bathrooms. Half-board (bed, breakfast, dinner) costs €80–95 per person; lunch menus and à la carte meals are available. The rifugio serves Veneto cuisine with strong coffee and local wines. The building reopened in 2019 after renovation and offers mobile phone reception, a small bar, and drying facilities. It operates from mid-June through September, with limited weekends in shoulder months.

Book from March onward for July and August weekends; June and September rarely fill. Contact the hut directly by phone or check rifugi.net for availability. The Tre Cime circuit draws 1,000+ hikers daily in peak season, so start early (6am) if you're day-hiking. Solo hikers and smaller groups find space more easily midweek. Arrive by 5pm to secure dinner.
