About

Rifugio Antelao sits at 1,796m in Valle di Cadore, below the east face of Antelao (3,264m). Reach it from Colle di Lana in 2.5 hours, or from Passo Ghedina in 3 hours. The hut is a natural base for traversing the Dolomite peaks around Tre Cime di Lavaredo and for mountain biking routes in the valley.

The hut has 40 beds plus 4 emergency places. Hot meals and packed lunches are available. Showers and reliable drinking water are provided. The building was founded in 1948 and renovated in the early 2000s. Summer staffing runs roughly June through September; the hut remains open but unstaffed in winter—bring your sleeping bag and food if you visit off-season. No WiFi.

Book through rifugi.cai.it. July and August fill 6–8 weeks ahead. Email or phone ahead if you're coming in shoulder season or winter. The hut is popular with mountain bikers in June and September when trails dry out. Phone and email contacts are on the CAI website.
