Rifugio Col dei Baldi

Rifugio Col dei Baldi sits at 1,922m on the Col dei Baldi pass in the Ligurian Apennines. You reach it via hiking from Passo del Turchino (1,544m) in roughly 1.5 hours, or from the hamlet of Rondanina in about 2 hours. The approach is moderate terrain through beech forest and alpine meadow. This is a working base for traversing the ridge system between Genoa and the Ligurian coast, with straightforward connections to nearby peaks and passes.
The rifugio is a small, traditional mountain hut offering basic accommodation and solid home cooking. It has about 30 beds split between shared dormitories. Half-board (cena and colazione) is standard; meals are generous and feature local ingredients. Water comes from a spring. The hut operates year-round, though winter visits require advance notice as staffing is minimal. No electricity or phone signal—this is intentional. Toilets are standard mountain-hut standard, showers are cold water or available by arrangement.

July and August are quieter than the shoulder seasons. Expect to pay around €50–60 for half-board. The hut does not take online reservations, so a direct call is essential.
