Refuge Fiori del Baldo

Rifugio Fiori del Baldo sits at 1,850m on Monte Baldo's eastern flank, above Lake Garda in the Veneto Alps. The standard approach from Malcesine takes 3 hours via the Strada degli Alpini trail, gaining 1,100m steadily through beech and pine forest. From the Ferrara di Monte Baldo parking area on the ridge road, the hut is closer at around 1.5 hours. Most hikers arrive on the afternoon of day one to acclimatise for high-altitude summits on the ridge above.

The rifugio has 50 beds spread across simple but warm rooms. Half and full board are standard; the kitchen produces solid mountain food without fuss. WiFi is available if you need to stay connected. The hut operates year-round but confirms bookings depend on snow conditions above 1,600m in winter. Showers are available, though water rationing applies during dry spells. This is working territory—the hut caters to ridge walkers and ski tourers rather than casual weekend visitors.
