Refuge Giorgio Dal Piaz

Rifugio Giorgio Dal Piaz sits at 1,973m in the Dolomites above the Val di Zoldo, reached from the village of Zoldo Alto. The standard approach takes 2.5 hours from Rifugio Fedare (1,645m), following marked paths through mixed forest and alpine meadow. You can also approach from the Passo Ghedina side in roughly 3 hours. The hut works as a base for day hikes across this less-crowded section of the Dolomites, with routes to Nuvolau, Ra Gusela, and the ridges above Colle Santa Lucia within reach.

The hut has 40 beds across several rooms. The kitchen serves three meals daily—dinner is set menu, breakfast is standard, packed lunches available on request. There's a small bar and WiFi throughout. Water comes from a spring. Half-board and full-board rates are standard. The hut opens year-round, though staffing and services drop in November and March. Winter access depends on snow conditions; contact ahead if visiting outside July–September.
