Refuge Malga Malera

Rifugio Malga Malera sits at 1,561m in the Dolomites foothills of Veneto, on the Altopiano dei Sette Comuni plateau. The hut is accessible from multiple trailheads. The nearest road access is from Asiago; most hikers approach via marked trails from the valley below, typically 2–3 hours depending on your starting point. The surrounding terrain is rolling Alpine meadow—expect easier walks rather than technical climbing.

The rifugio is a working mountain dairy as well as a hut, which means you'll find genuine local cheese and dairy products on the menu. It has capacity for around 50 guests in mixed and private rooms. Meals feature Veneto mountain cooking: polenta, game, local cheeses, and hearty vegetable soups. The hut operates year-round, though winter availability depends on snow and weather—confirm before planning a winter visit. Basic facilities include hot showers and a small bar.
