About

Rifugio Sommariva al Pramperet (usually just "Rifugio Pramperet") sits at 1,857 m in the Pra della Vedova, a wide grassy basin at the head of Val Pramper, on the north-eastern edge of the Dolomiti Bellunesi National Park. Ringed by the Spiz di Mezzodi and the Cima di Pramper, it occupies one of the most scenic corners of the park's Pramper-Mezzodi group. First built in 1923 and today run by the CAI section of Oderzo, it is best known as one of the final major stage-huts on Alta Via 1, the classic high route from Lago di Braies to Belluno.

The refuge is not reached from any "Pramper village" — there is none. Instead it is approached up Val Pramper from Forno di Zoldo, in the Zoldo valley to the north. It sleeps 25 in rooms of six to eight beds and keeps a five-bed winter room open when unstaffed. Meals are served, and facilities include indoor bathrooms with showers, hot water, electricity and Wi-Fi. It is normally staffed from around 20 June to 20 September; outside those dates only the winter room is available. Booking is by phone, email, or through the CAI reservation portal.

From Forno di Zoldo (full Alta Via 1 stage)

4h Moderate

The complete valley-to-hut stage from Forno di Zoldo follows the Val Pramper road to Pian de la Fopa, then ascends via Pian dei Palui and Malga Pramper — roughly 9 km and 1,050 m of climb.

From Passo Duran / Rifugio Carestiato (Alta Via 1)

4h Moderate

The classic AV1 stage traverses remote grassy ridges and forcelle south from Passo Duran to reach Pramperet; the next stage continues to Rifugio Pian de Fontana.
