Rifugio Son Forca

Rifugio Son Forca sits at 2,235m in the Dolomites, accessible via the Sorau Valley trail from the village of Arabba. The approach takes 2 hours from the valley floor on a well-maintained path that gains 700m steadily through larch forest before opening onto alpine meadow. Most hikers arrive from the south via Passo Ghedina or from the north through the Sorau Valley.
The hut operates year-round and sleeps 40 guests in simple, shared rooms. Meals are hearty mountain fare—expect pasta, polenta, and local cheese. The kitchen serves breakfast from 7:00 and dinner from 19:00. There's no shower, but basic washing facilities are available. Cell signal is reliable. The hut is popular with ski tourers in winter and hikers tackling the Tre Cime circuit in summer.

Half-board is standard; they'll pack lunches on request.
