Gipfelhütte Alvier

Gipfelhütte Alvier sits at 2,343m on the Alvier, a limestone peak that dominates the eastern Liechtenstein Alps. Reach the hut in 2.5 hours from Malbun, the only ski resort in Liechtenstein. The approach follows the Fürstensteig ridge trail, which climbs steadily through alpine meadow before steepening toward the summit plateau. This route demands sure footing on exposed terrain; it's not a hiking path in good weather alone. From Planken in the Rhine Valley, allow 4 hours total.

The hut holds 24 beds across shared rooms. The warden serves hot meals, typically simple Alpine fare, and provides drinking water. Opening runs late June through September, though verify dates before travel. The hut operates as an LAV facility (Liechtensteiner Alpenverein) and welcomes both overnight guests and day visitors stopping for drinks or lunch.
