Tre Cime Loop

The Tre Cime di Lavaredo circuit is one of the most popular day hikes in the Dolomites, circling the three iconic rock towers that have become a symbol of the entire range. The loop covers roughly 10 kilometres with around 400 metres of elevation gain, starting and finishing at Rifugio Auronzo. Along the way, hikers pass Rifugio Lavaredo on the southern side and Rifugio Locatelli on the northern face, where the classic postcard view of the Tre Cime unfolds. The trail is well-marked and non-technical, making it accessible to families and casual hikers, though the altitude (around 2,300 metres) and rocky terrain demand proper footwear. Early mornings or shoulder-season visits help avoid the substantial summer crowds.
