Počitniški Lodge Možnica

Počitniški Lodge Možnica sits at 793m in the Bovec valley, on the western edge of the Julian Alps. Reach it from Bovec town by hiking up the Možnica valley on a well-marked trail—allow 1.5 to 2 hours. The approach crosses open meadows and light woodland, gaining height gradually. You can also access it from Kobarid via a longer route through the valley. The hut serves as a starting point for day walks to Krn (2,244m) and other peaks in the surrounding area.
The lodge has a capacity of around 40 people. It offers half-board and full-board options, with simple Slovenian mountain food. There's a small bar and basic dormitory accommodation. The hut operates year-round, though winter visits are less common and require advance notice. Check heating and food availability if planning a winter trip. Facilities are functional rather than luxurious—this is a working hut for serious hikers, not a resort.

Summer weekends fill quickly from July to September—book at least 3-4 weeks ahead. Outside peak season, a few days' notice usually suffices. Half-board is cheaper than full-board; bring your own sleeping bag if you prefer.
