Vojkova Hut na Nanosu

Vojkova Koča sits at 1,240m on Nanös, a limestone ridge in the Kamnik-Savinja Alps southeast of Ljubljana. The hut is reached via marked trails from several directions. From Radovljica (the nearest town), allow 3–4 hours to reach the hut on foot. Most hikers approach from Ojstrica pass or from the village of Kranjska Gora to the north. The ridge walk itself is straightforward, with good views across the Kamnik and Savinja valleys.
The hut has space for around 60 guests and serves hot meals, drinks, and basic provisions. The menu focuses on local Slovenian food—expect hearty soups, meat dishes, and traditional sides. Bunk rooms are simple and functional. The hut operates year-round, though staff presence may be reduced in winter; confirm ahead if you plan a winter visit. A PZS mountain pass (planinska knjižica) gives discounts on overnight stays.
Book by phone at least a week ahead for weekends, especially from May to September. The ridge fills quickly on sunny Saturdays and during school holidays. Call directly to confirm meal options and staffing. Winter visits require prior arrangement. The hut is accessible to day visitors too, so expect foot traffic if you're staying overnight.
