Lodge Planincev na Farbanci

Dom Planincev na Farbanci sits at 702m in the lower Kamnik-Savinja Alps, near Nazarje in central Slovenia. The hut serves as a base for day hikes and shorter multi-day trips through forested terrain and rolling ridges. Access is straightforward: drive to Nazarje, then follow marked trails into the hills. Most hikers reach the hut in 1.5 to 2.5 hours from the nearest road access, depending on the starting point. The PZS-managed lodge offers basic accommodation with dormitory beds and simple private rooms. The kitchen serves traditional Slovenian meals and packed lunches for onward hikes. Water and heating are reliable. The hut operates year-round, though advance notice is essential outside summer months. Capacity is modest—expect to share space with other hikers, especially weekends. The setting is quieter than busier Julian Alps huts, which appeals to those avoiding crowds.

Outside peak season, you can often turn up with a day's notice. Bring your own sleeping bag or arrange hire ahead. The hut has no shop, so buy supplies in Nazarje before arrival.
