About
The hut is run by the PZS (Planinska zveza Slovenije) and offers simple dormitory accommodation for around 30 people. Meals are available if you book ahead; the kitchen serves hearty local fare. Water comes from a spring. There are no showers. The hut operates year-round, though snow and access roads can be impassable December to March. Summer months (June through September) are busy with Slovenian weekend hikers, particularly Saturday and Sunday.
Book directly with the hut by phone or through the PZS website. Contact details are available through the main PZS office. Reserve at least 2–3 weeks ahead for weekends in July and August. Weekday visits in shoulder seasons require only a few days' notice. The hut is popular with Slovenian school groups in spring and autumn, so check the calendar before planning group visits.

Not walking in? These run in the same valley and are worth a day.
- From Ljubljana: Trip to Lake Bled and Bled Castle 6 hours · from €74 · 4.7★ (1,622 reviews) The safe default for a first Bled visit without a car — coach transfer, castle and a pletna crossing — but it is sightseeing, not walking, and you get maybe two hours of free time at the lake.
- From Ljubljana: Lake Bled Small Group Tour (Castle&Island) 5.5 hours · from €66 · 4.9★ (275 reviews) Same castle-and-island circuit as the big coaches but in a small group, so it suits people who want the guide's attention rather than a headset and a queue.
- From Bled: Self-Guided E-Bike to Vintgar Gorge 4 hours · from €45 · 4.9★ (353 reviews) The best-value option if you are already staying in Bled and happy without a guide: you get the gorge ticket and ride there yourself, which also dodges the parking chaos at the entrance.
