About
The hut offers beds for around 40 guests in mixed dormitory rooms. Meals are simple and hearty—expect soups, stews, and local specialities. Water is available. The hut operates year-round but is busiest on weekends from May through September and during school holidays. Winter access depends on snow conditions; contact ahead if visiting November through March. It is not a modern facility, but that suits the quiet, forested character of the Pohorje.
Book directly with the hut for groups of 8 or more. Weekends and July–August fill quickly; aim to book 2–3 weeks ahead for summer weekends. The hut can usually accommodate walk-ins on weekdays outside school holidays. Bring cash; card payment options are limited. The PZS manages maintained trails to and from the hut.
