Sesvenna-Hut - Refuge Sesvenna

Sesvenna-Hütte sits at 2,258m in the Val Sesvenna, a remote valley in the Münster region of Graubünden. Reach it from the south via Tschierv (the highest inhabited commune in Switzerland at 1,600m) in a 3-hour climb through alpine pasture. From the north, approach from Münster valley in roughly the same time. The hut lies on the Münster-Mesolcina crossing route and serves as a base for peaks in the Sesvenna Range. The walk-in is steady rather than technical, with cairns marking the path through open terrain.
The hut is run by the Swiss Alpine Club (SAC/CAS) and sleeps 80 across multiple rooms. It offers dinner and breakfast (book meals in advance), with a small bar. The kitchen prepares hearty mountain food. Water comes from a mountain stream. There are no showers; wash facilities are basic. The hut operates year-round but is quietest in November and April. Winter access requires mountain skills and may be limited depending on snow conditions.
