About
This small SAC-managed hut sleeps 12 across dormitory rooms. The guardian provides hot meals (book in advance) and hot drinks throughout the day. There's no shower facility—expect basic mountain conditions. The hut opens typically from June through October, though exact dates vary by year. Water comes from an alpine spring; heating is a wood stove. It's a true working hut, not a comfortable refuge hotel.
Book beds directly with the hut guardian weeks ahead during July and August. The hut fills quickly on weekends. This is prime terrain for day hikes to higher peaks—Monte Leone (3,552m) is a popular objective—and as a staging point for longer mountaineering tours. Bring cash: card payment is unreliable at this elevation.
