About

Refuge Rosalba sits at 1730m in the Bergamasco Alps on the border between Lombardy and Veneto. The hut is reached from Carona in the Seriana Valley. Most parties approach from the Passo della Gojra (1995m) in 1.5 hours, or from Rifugio Nani in 2 hours. The hut sits on the ridge between Monte Avaro and Pizzo della Presolana, making it a natural stopping point on multi-day traverses of the range. The location offers quick access to scrambling on nearby peaks and views across the Orobie towards Como.
The refuge holds 43 beds in shared rooms. CAI manages the hut and staffs it year-round. Meals are cooked to order—bring your own food or eat what the guardian prepares. The hut provides basic alpine-hut comfort: blankets, mattresses, and a stove for common areas. There is no WiFi. Water comes from a spring. The hut operates all year except for short closure periods in autumn and late spring; check ahead before winter visits.
Book by phone directly with the hut. July and August require reservation 2–4 weeks ahead. Weekends fill faster than weekdays. Outside summer months, walk-ins are usually welcome but calling ahead is sensible. The hut number is available through the Sezione di Milano of CAI.
