Almagelleralp
2.4About
The hut is a working alpine dairy farm as much as a mountain hut. You can stay overnight in simple rooms or sleep in the dormitory. Half-board is standard. Meals centre on local Valais cooking—expect cheese, bread, and hearty mountain fare. The hut operates year-round, though conditions dictate practical access outside summer months. Capacity is modest, around 30 guests. There are no showers; toilet facilities are basic but clean.
Contact the hut directly by phone or email to check availability and book. Summer weekends fill quickly—reserve at least 2-3 weeks ahead for July and August. Midweek stays are easier to arrange. The hut's working farm status means opening hours can be irregular in shoulder seasons, so confirm before you go. Payment is usually cash or Swiss card.
