About
The hut is managed by the SAC and sleeps 50 in mixed dormitories. It runs a simple kitchen and serves dinner and breakfast year-round when staffed. Water comes from the spring nearby. The outdoor toilet is standard alpine fare. Winter access requires snow competence and avalanche awareness; most visitors come June through September. The guardian stays through peak season but the hut is often staffed only weekends in shoulder months.
Book directly by phone as early as possible for July and August. The hut fills quickly during fine weather. Arrive by mid-afternoon to secure a good sleeping spot in summer. Bring cash for meals and lodging—card payments are not reliable at this elevation.
