Cabin D'Arpitettaz

Cabane d'Arpitettaz stands at 2,786m in the Valais Alps, reached via the Val d'Anniviers approach. Most hikers arrive from Grimentz in 3–4 hours, gaining 1,100m through open alpine terrain. The hut sits on a high col with views across the surrounding peaks and serves as a base for traversing the region or accessing higher summits. Winter approach is substantially harder and requires mountaineering experience.

The SAC-managed cabin holds 32 beds across several rooms. Half-board and full-board meals are available, or use the self-catering kitchen for your own food. Water runs from a reliable spring. The hut opens year-round but staffing and conditions vary significantly between seasons—summer and early autumn are reliable, while winter visits require advance coordination. Basic facilities include pit toilets and heating.

Book directly by phone or email well ahead for July and August. June and September typically have more availability. The hut fills quickly during good weather weekends. Phone ahead before visiting in shoulder seasons or winter to confirm the hut is staffed and conditions are safe for your planned route.
