Cabin Rambert

Cabane Rambert sits at 2,580m in the Valais Alps, above the Val d'Anniviers. Most hikers approach from Grimentz (1,570m), a 4-5 hour climb via Forclaz de Soudeilan. The route gains 1,010m steadily through alpine meadows and rocky terrain. Winter access is difficult and the hut closes seasonally, so check conditions before attempting approaches in autumn or spring.

The SAC-managed hut holds 38 beds across mixed dormitory rooms. Hot meals are served daily when the hut is open—this is your main refueling point on multi-day tours of the Anniviers region. A self-catering kitchen is available if you bring your own food. Reliable drinking water is on tap. Basic heating and simple shower facilities are standard for an alpine hut at this elevation. The hut serves as a hub for circuits linking the Valais high routes and approaches to Pointe de Tsarév and other regional peaks.

Book directly with the hut by email or phone as soon as your dates are fixed. July and August require advance booking—aim for 6-8 weeks ahead. May through September is the reliable open season. The hut closes completely in winter and during shoulder months. Confirm opening dates before committing to a route that depends on Rambert for accommodation.
