Europahütte

Europahütte sits at 2220m in the Valais region, serving the network of trails around the Turtmann valley. Most parties approach from Gruben, a small settlement accessible by road from St-Niklaus. The walk from Gruben to the hut takes roughly 2 hours on a well-marked path that climbs steadily through alpine meadow. Snow and ice can block access until early June, so check conditions before visiting outside summer months.

The hut has 42 beds split across shared dormitory rooms. Meals are served daily during the season—book your dinner and breakfast when you reserve your bunk. Drinking water is available on-site. The hut operates as a base for day walks in the surrounding peaks and connects to longer traverses toward neighboring valleys. It's popular with groups and families doing multi-day mountain routes. Opening dates vary by year but typically run from late spring through September, so confirm before planning your trip.
