Lui D'Aout
2.0About
The hut is a small, simple stone building run by SAC. It has space for 20 people in mixed dormitories. The guardian serves hot meals at dinner and packed lunches on request; bring your own water bottle. Open year-round, though expect minimal staffing outside summer months (mid-June to September). The hut sits on the walking route between Grimentz and Chandolin, making it useful as a stopover rather than a destination in itself. Nearby you'll find the Lac de Laidig and access to ridgelines heading toward Pointe de Zinal.
Book directly by phone or email with the guardian. July and August fill quickly; reserve 4–6 weeks ahead for these months. Spring and autumn are quieter. The hut has no electricity and basic washing facilities, so plan accordingly. Winter visits require experience with snow travel and avalanche risk assessment. Grimentz has a train station and hotels if you need to base yourself nearby before or after your stay.
