Posto Tappa Gta sits at 1,411m in the Ticino Alps, in the southern Swiss Alps where Italian culture dominates the landscape. The hut is reached from Rodi-Fiesso in the Verzasca Valley. Most hikers approach via the Sentiero Gotthard trek (the SAC's long-distance route crossing the Alps), arriving in 4–5 hours from lower elevations. The hut works as a midpoint stop rather than a destination itself, though day walks radiate into the surrounding granite peaks and alpine meadows.
The hut sleeps 20 people in shared dorms and offers half-board accommodation (dinner and breakfast included). The kitchen serves traditional Ticinese food with vegetarian options. There's no WiFi, so bring a paper map and expect genuine disconnection. The hut operates year-round but is busiest June to September and during Easter holidays. Water comes from a mountain spring; showers require advance notice. Cell reception is weak but not nonexistent.
